Bunuelos, not the real ones but....

How about some bunuelos for a snack? Easy and fast..... Get some flour tortillas (Tia Rosa or Mega brand unless you want to make your own.....) cut up into strips or triangles.... Fry in oil until golden, drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with a sugar and cinnamon mix and give to enjoy.... This might not be the traditional recipe but kids don't care, it's sweet, crunchy and home made. Try Mexican hot chocolate with this too: 1 liter of milk (a tetra brick), 1 Mexican chocolate piece (Chocolate Ibarra; Chocolate Abuelita, etc.), put in a pan over med heat and get the milk hot (watch so it doesn't burn), drop the chocolate round in and stir, the chocolate will melt and already has sugar and cinnamon. if you have a hand blender, whip it up so you get lots of foam or use one of the traditional "molinillos" a wood hand beater which works really well. Serve with your bunuelos as a lovely "merienda" for anyone!
